Description
Matlab code for calculating directional and distance estimation error
This is the first project that investigated the contribution of vision and proprioception during a figure eight in path integration.
The primary objective of this study was to increase our understanding of the contribution of the three major sensory systems (vision, proprioception, vestibular) on path integration while executing a predefined route. Path integration is the continuous update of direction and orientation in space relative to a starting point. Information about path integration can provide insight into the mechanisms responsible for orientation and direction during walking, as people age or develop a disorder. By determining the mechanisms involved in path integration, different treatment strategies could be developed by designing effective rehabilitation programs for locomotor related pathologies.
