Python Code for Bloch Sphere

$39

Description

The Bloch sphere is a representation of the state space of a two-level quantum system. It is a unit 2 sphere, where oppositely placed points correspond to mutually orthogonal state vectors.

The north pole corresponds to the ground state and the south pole corresponds to the excited state. By plotting  \psi (t) onto the sphere, we obtain a visual of the system’s dynamic behavior and a possible indication of chaos if it rapidly becomes ergodic (the points being distributed all around the sphere).

However, even non-chaotic systems can show an ergodic distribution over time so it’s not a flawless indication.
