The data type of the local data is a bus type. Local data mapped to atomic subcharts only support bus types when strict bus modeling is ON. To enable this diagnostic, set the 'Mux blocks used to create bus signals' option to 'error' in Configuration Parameters Dialog -> Diagnostics -> Connectivity pane
